Their common feature is the water environment has no influence on the course of the reaction. The distinction between them and the polyurethane resins (PUR) is they do not transfer the flame and belong to the group of self-extinguishing resins. Both the characterization and examples of the use of organic-mineral silicate resins have been given in the paper.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zmienność litologiczna osadów ilasto-krzemionkowych z obszaru IOM (strefa rozłamowa Clarion-Clipperton; E Pacyfik)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Maciąg, Łukasz; Kotliński, Ryszard A.; Borówka, Ryszard K.Authors presented geospatial variability of selected sedimentological, mineralogical and diagenetical features of clayey-siliceous sediments from Interoceanmetal deposit area (eastern Pacific, Clarion-Clipperton fracture zone). Changes of environmental conditions essential to geological and palaeogeographical situation into C-C zone, and also their importance to forming processes of Fe/Mn oxide concentrations have been described. Research studies on sediments, classified to the uppermost part of Clipperton FCl IV Formation (pliocene-holocene), show unimodal distribution of samples, poor sorting and mean grain size of siliceous clayey muds amount to x = 6,83 phi. Some qualitative/quantitative changes into the mineral composition of the clay 0,004 / 0,002 mm subfractions (clay minerals from kaolinite/illite/chlorite/smectite groups), perpendicular variability of some Radiolaria/Diatomeae species and also micronodules amount depletion during burial processes have been confirmed. Environmental conditions into the C-C zone enable to form economically attractive depositional fields covered by polymetallic nodules that constitute potential ore sources of Mn, Ni, Co, Cu and other metals in the future.Item type:Article, Access status: Metadata only , Organizacja morskich badań geofizycznych na przykładzie projektu »BalticPipe«(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Hac, Benedykt; Gajewski, Juliusz; Gajewski, Lucjan; Nowak, Jarosław Robert; Szefler, KazimierzExploration of raw minerals on sea bottom using specialised research vessels, equipped in devices (multibeam echosounders, side scan sonars, subbottom profilers, etc.) for geophysical investigations, in its organizational aspects does not essentially differ from other activities aimed at investigation of surface sea bottom sediments. This information concerning sea bottom is also necessary for preparatory work before laying pipelines, power and telecommunication cables, and building hydraulic engineering constructions. The organization of geophysical investigations in the sea named in the title of the paper, aimed at gaining knowledge on sea bottom structure along a planned pipeline, is a good tool to demonstrate the way how to prepare and to carry out exploration of raw materials on the sea bottom, using acoustic methods.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Szybów - nietypowe zadania w budownictwie szybowym(2007) Rusek, Janusz; Sanocki, TomaszIn December 2003 Kopex SA concluded a Contract for main shaft deepening, construction and furnishing of support excavations at Cayeli Bakir Isletmeleri Zink and Copper Ore Mine in Turkey. From December 2003 till August 2007, PBSz SA carried out complete work in mining and mechanical branches, within the confines of a project consisting in opening-out a new production level. The scope of work included: deepening by 286 m an operating production shaft of 5.5 m diameter, construction and furnishing of shaft station room, skip pocket, conveyor drift, electric substation room and main pump room on the new production level, sinking of oblique ore passes and a ventilation raise, driving approx. 1000 m of stone headings with the application of shotcreted anchor support. During the shaft and ore pass sinking, the construction of support structures and driving of headings procedure employing the techniques of large diameter hole drilling and blasting were applied at a wide range. The procedure applied allowed the carrying out non-standard tasks in shaft construction.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Cementy specjalne dla budownictwa podziemnego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Szeląg, Henryk; Kurdowski, WiesławThe paper describes properties of special cements and prepared concrete blends elaborated and produced in the Division of Mineral Building Materials in Cracow. Showed properties emphasize exceptional features of these materials which guarantee durability of constructions under extreme conditions of exploitation load and environmental effects. It concerns very high resistances, small porosity and advantageous pore size distribution, resistance to chemical corrosion, freeze resistance and controlled values of very low contraction and expansion for expansive concretes. Restoring the regular goods navigation will result behind himself in the revitalization existing and construction of new infrastructure handling-logistic of inland commercial ports. Creating the transport policy, it is necessary to remember that the water transport is the most ecological type of transport. He is producing the 10% of the emissions of gases expelled to the atmosphere by the equivalent wheeled transport scarcely. His energy consumption is a 30% of the energy consumption of the wheeled transport. A characterization of the Lower Vistula was included in the article, concept of development of the watercourse at the part Bydgoszcz - Gdańsk. Barriers hindering the development of the water transport and argumentation speaking for the activation of watercourses in Poland are presented. An alternative transport was described for carriages of cargo overland. The Lower Vistula constitutes the very important length for the inland waterway shipping. He constitutes the part of international E40 watercourses and E70 as well as Gdańsk and Gdynia can fulfill the transport important function for bulk goods or in containers at the part from the center of Poland to ports. The presented watercourse of the Vistula, as the chain in the all-Polish transport network with using container terminals on existing wharves in the Port Gdańsk and with new terminal in Bydgoszcz.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Ocena zawartości popiołu w pokładach węgla za pomocą nieparametrycznych metod statystycznych(2007) Niedoba, TomaszThe paper presents the distribution of ash contents in coal, treated as the mixture of distributions taken from the individual coal beds. In purpose of their approximation, apart from traditional log-norm distribution function, the non-parametric statistical methods were applied: kernel method and orthogonal Fourier series method. The greatest attention has been paid to geotechnic threat, which is potentially the most dangerous threat for continuity of activity of mine pits and the state of work safety. Some examples of events connected with individual kinds of threats have been showed. For several years it has cooperated with manufacturers of modern coal boilers for whom it provides coal of appropriate granulation. This article presents a description of modern heat production technologies based on coal and designed for small and medium-size users. These technologies allow the cheapest heat production while the standing standards of toxic substances' emission are complied with. Coal from a Kovin deposit is in all parameters of quality suitable for burning in power plants and commercial use. Over the past 15 years in the »unprotected« part of the deposit there is a test pit with an experimental underwater coal mining method to collect data and examine the possibilities of this method in large-scale and reserves adequate for the construction of power plants. The paper presents the analysis of copper ores, originating from Legnica and Głogów copper deposit area, beneficiation products balance. The errors of yields determination, which are the effect of improper sample collections, inexactness of chemical analyzes, as well of errors being the effect of products arising time shifts (which can be the highest ones) were taken into consideration. As the measures of the direct errors of chosen product yield estimation, the gradient vectors and its quadratic errors given by total differential method were applied. Then, by Grumbrecht method, the mean values of yields for the balanced period were calculated for minimization of the sums of increments Delta alpha, Delta betha and Delta v. The production of aggregates, cheap, common, available building material is the answer for the economy's demand, including the construction industry. The time from political and economical transformation of 1989 is the example of cyclical downfalls, stabilizations and growth periods, even with insufficient supply times. There is a proven dependence between GDP and the demand for aggregates. Nowadays, aggregates are both natural (including crushed and sand-gravel aggregates) and artificial, including those from recycling. The quantitative majority of the former does not allow to ignore the latter. During last 20 years the aggregate industry gathered different experiences. From the processes of ownership changes, through technical and technological changes, implementing European standards of aggregate quality to becoming a decent player in the European aggregate industry. The paper presents experiences, evaluations and prognosis the come out of the activity of industry's leading organization - Polish Association of Aggregates Producers Employers that is closely related with the representative group of producers with different quality and quantity of production, but also different capital structure and way of functioning. The prognosis about market demand and production capacity is presented together with threats that may become obstacles in fulfilling the industry's most important task: providing the growing economy with aggregates. The paper describes the experiences of other countries, both old and new members of European Union and Polish experiences that come out of our six- year presence in its structures.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Porównanie postaci konstrukcyjnych koła zabierakowego pojazdów koparki wielonaczyniowej(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Rusiński, Eugeniusz; Smolnicki, Tadeusz; Przybyłek, GrzegorzDriving centres of surface mining crawlers are high loaded elements. These elements are also strongly abraded. Therefore the mining machine requires frequent replacement of the wearied elements. Driving centre should allow for such replacement, and also meet certain strength requirements. Three versions of the wheel drive mechanism of the Bucket Wheel Excavator have been presented. Geometric forms of various construction solutions have been also shown in the paper. Apart from this, boundary conditions have been identified to carry out the numerical analysis with the use of FEM. The following systems were discussed: - system of capture and storage of $CO_{2}$ in post-combustion, - system of capture and storage of $CO_{2}$ in pre-combustion, - system of oxy-combustion, - and co-combustion of coal and biomass. In the analysis were discussed: - influence of the chosen technology of $CO_{2}$ abatement on costs and energy effectiveness of electricity production, - influence of emission trading on economy of the different options.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Energia elektryczna z węgla brunatnego w świetle programów czystych technologii energetycznych i cen oraz kosztów wytwarzania w latach 1995-2006(2007) Modrzejewski, SzymonDirections of activities indicated by International Energy Agency and European Union in a range of perspective development scenarios of clean coal power technologies have been presented. Undertaken actions within this issue developed in Foresight program, including brown coal mining and processing technologies, have been outlined. Conceptions of hydrogen production from brown coal are especially important. Diverse growth of electricity price in particular countries of European Union in 2005-2006 has been outlined. Development of electricity production from brown coal, as well as its prices and costs in comparison with domestic prices for final consumers have been analysed. An unfavourable trend of enlargement of differences between domestic electricity price and recently stable price of electricity produced in brown coal fed power plants has been displayed. Annual growth of energy production since 2002 mainly in coal power plants has been displayed. Electricity consumption 3% growth caused by Gross Domestic Product 5,8% growth has been outlined. This support is often under intensive, aggressive influence of mining conditions causing a slow decrease of construction load capacity. The paper presents results of in situ research of corrosion of steel support set ŁP, on the basis of headings steel supports set, used in a long period of time, reliability maintenance geomechanical and technical problems. On the basis of the results of the research, the characteristic features of the corrosion process and their influences of the construction load capacity are presented.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Microwave beneficiation of brown coal(2007) Zimmermann, Erik; Niemann-Delius, ChristianCoals of the Rhenish lignite mines, designated for power plant utilization, were exposed to microwave radiation energy for different time periods and energy levels, varying from 2,5 kW up to 10 kW, in order to dry the coal. The samples were treated with microwave radiation with a frequency of 2,45 GHz. A batch- as well as a continuous drying simulation and a verification with pre- dried samples (70 degrees of Celsius for 24 h), were conducted on a pilot scale level industrial microwave oven. To prove the general viability of microwave radiation as a beneficial process for brown coal, basic coal properties such as moisture content, volatile matter and gross calorific value were analyzed. Results show, that nearly no decomposition of the coal takes place, the moisture content can be reduced to a suitable level for pulverized coal firing power plants, the gross calorific value increases and double energy input leads to halved drying times. Furthermore the temperature of the brown coal did not exceed 90 degrees of Celsius during exposure to microwaves at ambient temperature and normal atmospheric pressure. The drying of the coal with microwave radiation showed in a first approach no negative side effects of the coal properties.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wodny kierunek rekultywacji w KWB »Adamów« SA - inwestycją w przyszłość regionu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Orlikowski, Dariusz; Szwed, LillaThe report presents the problem of reclamation of terrains after lignite exploitation and is based on an example of KWB »Adamów« SA. It has been shown that water is more and more popular direction of reclamation. It describes three water basins built by the opencast mine. The report also includes further plans by KWB »Adamów« SA to build three other basins. The significance of the economic factor is highlighted as the major issue in the selection process of the reclamation method. The report concludes that there is a need to change the way of thinking when it comes to the reclamation process.
