Postawy polskich użytkowników internetu wobec nadzoru obecnego w sieci
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Juza, Marta
In last few years collecting personal data by internet is largely discussed social problem. This internet surveillance is carried out by public or commercial organizations. In contrast to older, panoptic type of surveillance the new, digital one does not have to be carried out covertly. Surveilled persons know about surveillance, do not fear of it, and want to be surveilled. I conducted research about internet surveillance in 2017 and 2019. It has shown users’ tendency to reveal great amount of information about themselves. Their level of fear of surveillance is getting smaller, and their level of hope of some favors from surveillance increases. The fact of being surveilled in some fashion make users feel better. The research conclusion is that internet users accept surveillance but they expect some benefits in exchange for their data which is profitable for surveillers.
Układy interakcyjne w teatrze dramatycznym – szkic socjologiczny ugruntowany w empirii
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Zimnica-Kuzioła, Emilia
The article concerns interactive systems in the Polish drama theater. The author, based on existing and evoked sources, analyzes the following situations: 1. actors influence viewers, 2. viewers interact with each other, 3. viewers interact with actors and 4. actors interact with each other. The author characterizes the specificity of these interactions through the following concepts: social interference, synthonia, social facilitation, social idleness, deimmersion, defocused, group winging. I do not intend to talk about an institution or a formal organization, but about the place where the performance is presented, about the situation when the actor and viewer »face each other«, and the first entity begins to present something, present, create, and the second performs the act of reception. This situation constitutes the theater.
»Szara przestrzeń«. Charakterystyka postkolonialnego i urbanistycznego dyskursu krytycznego Orena Yiftachela
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Wielewska-Baka, Martyna
This article provides the crucial tools and methods of critical urban theory introduced by Oren Yiftachel, Israeli lecturer and activist in Department of Geography at Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva. The author analyzes the phenomena of »gray spaces«, also termed as »urban informality« which is directly connected to the inferior citizenship's condition of indigenous Bedouins and can be also linked to other populations in global South-East cities. Drawing to the colonial and (neo)Marxist language and relations, the paper invokes the concepts of »creeping apartheid«, hegemony, articulation and antagonism. The article argues for rethinking of the subalterns in terms of passive and unconcious groups. Regarding to the thought of Oren Yiftachel, the marginalized populations may articulate their antagonistic strategy by many urban, cultural and political practices, e.g. “sumood” or memory building.
Motywacje noszenia odzieży patriotycznej przez młodych Polaków i Polki
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Baran, Jowita Sara
This article presents the results of qualitative research, which the main purpose was to cognize the motivation of wearing patriotic clothing by young Poles, both men and women. The author search for an answer to the question: why patriotic clothing users choose these special clothes. Meaning of clothes that respondents attribute to these special clothing was also present. In the analytical part respondent's motivations of wearing clothes have been recognized as an indicator of hot or cold nationalism in the understanding of Michael Billing's banal nationalism theory. Further, the theoretical basis is the theory of late modernity by Anthony Giddens and description of globalization processes.
Preferencje muzyczne w dobie popularności strumieniowego słuchania muzyki
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Parus-Jankowska, Magdalena; Nożyński, Szymon
The authors wonder how, in a situation of increasing use and access to streaming services, music preference research works. Today, when every listener leaves very detailed information about themselves – only using new forms of music distribution – it may not be necessary to study preferences. On the other hand, such research can answer the question »why« the consumer listens to a particular music, which will be a qualitative indication, more precise than the map created by the algorithm. By streaming, the user creates his or her own profile, often unconsciously, and the omnipotent algorithms transform it into appropriate music suggestions. They do this in a »diplomatic« way, making the listener feel like making autonomous choices. It is therefore worthwhile to look at the operation of the algorithms and the risks they pose.
