Abstract
Wykonano trzy typy elementów o zróżnicowanych wymiarach (typu ściana, belka-ściana i referencyjny) z mieszanki towarowego SCC.
The phenomenon of bond between reinforcement and concrete is one of the key issues in reinforced concrete structures and is complex in its nature. It depends not only on the properties of the two materials, but also on a number of other factors. This dissertation addresses the influence of technological factors on this phenomenon in self-compacting concrete (SCC) and on the quality of the cover around steel rebars. The following aspects were analysed: the casting technology (from the bottom and from the top of the form), casting rate, the position of the rebar during concreting (along the height and span of the elements), and the elements’ height. Three types of elements of varying dimensions (wall, deep-beam, and reference type) were made from ready-mix SCC. The bond properties were determined by pull-out tests, and the cover quality by X-ray CT scanning. Based on the test results, the influence of the considered technological factors on the analysed characteristics was assessed. The most important conclusion is that bottom-up casting significantly improves both concrete cover quality and bond properties. The added value is the proposed relationship between the total volume of air voids under the bar and bond stresses in elements cast from above. The study indicates the need for further research into the influence of technological factors across a wider range of cases.
