Analiza jakości użytkowej najpopularniejszych implementacji testów CAPTCHA

Abstract

Due to rapid development of Internet, Web 2.0 in particular, websites need to be protected from automated (and undesired) usage of offered services (eg. mass creating of email accounts) or publishing content. Nowadays, majority of websites use CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) technology, which was invented in late 90s. This solution is often criticized as 'user unfriendly'. In this article usability of chosen CAPTCHA implementations is tested. Token-generation techniques, their advantages and disadvantages are considered. Alternatives for existing solutions are described. Wraz z rozwojem Internetu, a zwłaszcza idei Web 2.0, pojawiła się potrzeba zabezpieczenia serwisów przed zautomatyzowanym (i niepożądanym) korzystaniem z oferowanych usług (np. masowym zakładaniem kont e-mailowych) lub dodawaniem treści. Obecnie większość serwisów wykorzystuje do tego celu technikę CAPTCHA [Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart], opracowaną pod koniec lat 90. XX wieku. Rozwiązanie to jest jednak często poddawane krytyce jako niedoskonałe z punktu widzenia zwykłego użytkownika. Praca ta poświęcona jest analizie jakości użytkowej implementacji testów CAPTCHA w kilku przykładowych popularnych serwisach internetowych. Artykuł omawia techniki używane do generowania kodów zabezpieczających, prezentuje ich zalety oraz wady, a także przedstawia alternatywy dla istniejących rozwiązań.
