Modelowanie tekstury w magnezie i jego stopach podczas procesów przeróbki plastycznej na gorąco

Magnesium alloys are becoming more and more widely used in many applications due to their good mechanical properties and high specific strength. These materials are found to be used in automotive and aviation industries because they reduce vehicles weight, fuel consumption and $CO_{2}$ emissions. At the same time, new fields of application are emerging for the magnesium alloys. For example, they are used in medicine for biodegradable prostheses because of their excellent biocompatibility and adequate corrosion resistance. Another area of the Mg alloys application is in a power industry where they can be used for storage systems of electrical power for fuel cells. Some features of the magnesium alloys limit the scope of their applicability. For example, the anisotropy of mechanical properties limits the plastic processing of these materials. Since magnesium belongs to metals with a hexagonal structure, it is similar to other metals of this type (Zn, Ti, Zr) characterized by a large difference in the values of the critical resolved shear stress for different slip systems. Other examples of the anisotropy include a large difference in diffusion and corrosion rates along specific crystallographic directions. In polycrystalline materials the anisotropy of mechanical properties is even more significant because of the impact on a crystallographic texture of the material. This is especially visible among the magnesium alloys plastically processed, where intense crystallographic texture components are observed. The resulting crystallographic texture reduces the formability of the magnesium alloys and increases the anisotropy of strength and corrosion properties. Mechanisms of the crystallographic texture evolution in the magnesium alloys are still not fully understood and are recently an important subject of research. Knowledge of these mechanisms in hexagonal metals is extremely important due to the need to reduce the strong anisotropy of the mechanical properties. Results of experiments available in the literature provide large amounts of data that allow the formulation of new hypotheses. The hypotheses can be verified using mathematical models and computer simulations allowing even more deep understanding of the phenomena discussed. The monograph presents a new model of the crystallographic texture evolution. The model is based on visco-plastic self-consistent and cellular automaton models. The presented model is a unique approach to the evolution of the crystallographic texture in deformed alloys. It can be successfully used to describe processes occurring in metals during hot plastic processing. The developed model takes into account the values of the critical resolved shear stress for individual slip systems, strengthening parameters and processes of grain nucleation and grain growth. It allows to determine the evolution of the main crystallographic texture components, dislocation density, grain size and their disorientation. Thanks to the presented model it is possible to track continuous and discontinuous dynamic recrystallization. The modeling results were compared with the experimentally obtained data. The use of the presented model will allow for designing new hot deformation schemas of metals with the hexagonal structure by striving to form appropriate components of the crystallographic texture. Moreover, proper selection of the process conditions during plastic processing will reduce the high anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the magnesium alloys.

It explores the relationship between personal development priorities and the stage of studies, as well as examines the impact of external pressure on the development process effectiveness.

Methodological Aspects of Innovation of Project and Production Businesses

In this chapter the authors present a proposal of selected aspects of methodology for improving individual and team innovation in enterprises. Methodological aspects were reasoned with measurements of the level of innovation by GUS and its causes in Poland. The reasons for the low level of innovation are justified by historical roots, as the seven main points formulated by PTI in 1980, similarly to the 21 postulates of “Solidarity”, accurately reflect the main reasons for Poland’s backwardness in development and, unfortunately, most of them are still valid. These reasons require action on the part of the Polish state, but they should also be used in bottom-up activities of each enterprise after minor interpretation corrections. The chapter focuses on industrial enterprises, because the realities of creativity of engineers and technicians are different from workers in other sectors of the economy. An important determinant of creativity in industrial enterprises with aspirations to design their products and production processes is the set of instruments, in particular CAD/CAM/CAE. Three methodological proposals guarantee a faster and more effective way to creativity and innovativeness of enterprises, although their implementation requires a lot of effort on the part of both employees and their employers. At the same time, they are a prerequisite for acquiring the ability to make strategic innovations in the enterprise. The developed methodological solutions have been tested in practice and constitute an institutional recommendation.

Innowacyjne technologie i materiały wykorzystywane przy produkcji chwytów wspinaczkowych

Climbing holds are a basic element of the equipment of every climbing wall – commercial, home or specialized. The selection of appropriate materials and production technology is crucial to ensure that they meet all standards. Climbing holds, in accordance with applicable law, must have an appropriate approval or certificate, which has been confirmed by an independent accredited research unit. Therefore, efforts are made to automate the production processes of climbing holds, reduce the amount of waste and use materials taking into account the ecological aspect. The work presents the stages of production processes. After the technological and technical analysis, the greatest qualitative benefits of the proposed solutions were presented and directions for further actions were indicated.

Analysis of compressor units – operational issues

The characteristics of compressor chiller operation for the generation of cooling for the central systems of mine air-conditioning installations are presented. The modes of operation of the units and their use in the final stage of chilled-water cooling are described. The construction of the screw compressor and the compression methods are discussed. The actual use of compressors in the third stage of chilled water generation is analyzed. The free-cooling installation as a solution for supporting chilled-water generation is presented.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja, opis i interpretacja różnych przestrzeni, w ramach których funkcjonuje współczesna biblioteka naukowa. Identyfikacji i opisu tych przestrzeni dokonano za pomocą analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa oraz metodą obserwacji. Ustalono, że współczesna biblioteka akademicka charakteryzuje się różnorodnością przestrzeni, w których funkcjonuje. Przeprowadzone badania i analiza pozwoliły na wieloaspektowe spojrzenie na bibliotekę akademicką i przedstawienie jej w postaci wielowymiarowej struktury. Egzemplifikacji dokonano na przykładzie Biblioteki Głównej Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie.

Stanowisko badawcze do demonstracji działania dźwiękochłonnych metamateriałów akustycznych w falowodach o przekroju okrągłym

This paper is concerned with the construction of a demonstration kit to illustrate the applications of acoustic resonance-based suppressors in the context of narrowband industrial noise suppression. The kit consists of two main components – a circular waveguide and interchangeable silencer elements inserted into the waveguide channel. The functionality of the attenuators is demonstrated using an application that compares the acoustic spectrum of the signal recorded at the outlet of the waveguide without the attenuators installed and with the attenuators in place. Construction steps of the demonstration kit are presented as well as the process of optimising the geometry of the resonator dampers and the difficulties of using 3D printing in the manufacturing processes of acoustic metamaterials are presented. The possibilities of using the demonstration set in the context of teaching, science communication and tackling acoustic noise pollution were also discussed. The broad possibilities for further development of the design, particularly the potential for use in prototyping new geometries of acoustic metamaterials were also addressed.

On graph models in knowledge engineering

The paper presents selected applications of graph models in knowledge engineering. Starting from the basic definition of a graph as a set of nodes connected by edges, the article presents possible extensions of this concept aimed at increasing the power of expression and the ability to process knowledge. In particular, the work focuses on selected applications of graph models in research areas explored by the members of the KRaKEn research team.

Socio-Cognitive Metaheuristic Computing

Nature-inspired metaheuristics are very popular these days; their creation is usually justified based on the “no free lunch” theorem by Wolpert and MacReady. However, the creation of novel metaheuristics should be realized with care, not only for the sake of creation (cf. Sörensen reports on superficial metaheuristics); in other words, the inspiration should be solid and well-intended (it would be ideal if such methods were formally verified, however this happens very seldom, because of their complexity). In the case of the metaheuristics presented in this monograph, the inspiration comes from the works of Albert Bandura, a renowned Canadian-American psychologist. One of his most important contributions to contemporary science is the theory of social cognitive learning, showing that people do not only learn from their experiences (trial and error) but also by perceiving other people and (fortunately) their trials and errors. This saves a lot of effort, allowing us to utilize the knowledge gathered by perceiving others in order to build humankind’s self-knowledge. This inspiration leads to the proposal of a socio-cognitive metaheuristic paradigm consisting of the introduction or enhancement of the cognitive properties of particular metaheuristics. The most important achievements in this area are socio-cognitive Ant Colony Optimization and socio-cognitive Particle Swarm Optimization. The introduction of cognitive features into such computing algorithms allows us to reach better efficiency in solving selected hard benchmark problems. In this work, the above-mentioned novel algorithms are presented along with selected experimental results. Moreover, the socio-cognitive computing paradigm is defined, and the relationship of the selected metaheuristic algorithm to this paradigm is discussed. This metaphor is also considered as a reference for the selected classic and agent-based metaheuristics. These algorithms are identified by relating them to the literature background, and the possibilities of enhancing them with socio-cognitive features are discussed. Certain examples of further research are also identified. This monograph is meant to introducea novel perspective on the selected metaheuristics, defining the socio-cognitive computing paradigm and providing guidance in this area for readers who are interested in such nature-inspired computing methods.

Pokazuje też, w jaki sposób dostęp do nowych technologii doprowadził do zmian w organizacji i funkcjonowaniu biblioteki w obszarze promocji zasobów i usług informacyjno-komunikacyjnych, jakich konkretnych narzędzi technologicznych używają bibliotekarze, a także przedstawia ich wpływ na kształtowanie wizerunku i działalności marketingowej Biblioteki. Wszystkie omówione w artykule usługi, nowe projekty oraz działania promocyjne nie tylko są dla Biblioteki szansą na zaprezentowanie swojego nowoczesnego oblicza, ale też próbą określenia dalszego kierunku rozwoju.

Zagospodarowanie terenu poprzemysłowego Białe Morza w Krakowie – analiza i ocena procesu partycypacji społecznej

W ostatnich latach obserwuje się stały wzrost świadomości ekologicznej, a także rozwój społeczeństwa obywatelskiego. W odpowiedzi na te sygnały miasto Kraków zorganizowało konsultacje społeczne, których celem było rozpoznanie potrzeb i obaw interesariuszy odnośnie do zagospodarowania obszaru poprzemysłowego Białe Morza. Autorzy artykułu wspierali proces przygotowania i organizacji warsztatów partycypacyjnych, które były częścią konsultacji społecznych. Głównym celem artykułu jest omówienie i analiza przebiegu procesu partycypacyjnego oraz wyników konsultacji, a także ich ocena. Pozytywne i negatywne elementy procesu zostały zidentyfikowane i podsumowane w formie analizy SWOT. Wnioski z tej analizy mogą być w przyszłości wskazówką co do projektowania procesów partycypacji miejskiej w Krakowie.

Analiza fundamentu i korpusu elektrowni wiatrowej

In this paper, the foundation and body of a wind turbine were analyzed using Hexagon. Marc/Mentat software. A spatial FEM model of a reinforced concrete foundation slab supported on the ground and a steel body consisting of shell, perimeter and longitudinal frames was created. The reinforced concrete is formed by a coherent mesh of 8-node spatial elements, the body is formed by 4-node shell elements of the shell, longitudinal and transverse frames. The generator and rotor blades of the wind turbine were replaced by masses centered at the centers of gravity of these elements and the corresponding mass moments of inertia. Wind pressure was represented in terms of forces and pressures. An analysis of these quantities in terms of maximum operational wind speed was carried out. The purpose of the study was to create a numerical model of the foundation and body of a wind turbine, where the 750 kW Lagerwey LW58 power plant was modeled. In the calculations, the displacements from static loads, natural frequencies and vibration velocities of the foundation and body in the selected frequency range of forcing forces were determined.

Development of algorithmization bases for jet treatment evaluation modes of product curvilinear surfaces

A method and algorithm for evaluating the angular and linear velocities of jet nozzles or products are proposed to ensure uniform jet treatment for the curvilinear surfaces of products. This is considered for two cases such as maintaining a constant distance from the nozzle end to the surface and maintaining a constant attack angle. Uniform processing is achieved by adjusting these velocities. This approach can be used in jet processing for ensuring a surface’s quality, which will have different applications in the future.

Szacowanie emisji metanu na terenie województwa śląskiego przy użyciu analizatorów mobilnych

Emisja metanu z terenów przemysłowych i zurbanizowanych, a także jego wymiana między lądem a atmosferą, jest jednym z najważniejszych zagadnień badawczych w środowisku, ponieważ ten podstawowy szklarniany gaz bardzo silnie wpływa na globalne ocieplenie. Na skutek wprowadzenia przez Komisję Europejską regulacji prawnych zobowiązujących jednostki sektora wydobycia i dystrybucji ropy naftowej, gazu zimnego i węgla do badań uwalniania przez nie metanu w ostatnich latach nastąpił gwałtowny rozwój technik pomiarowych, który pozwolił na prowadzenie badań strumienia tego gazu w wolnej atmosferze. Praca przedstawia oszacowania emisji metanu z różnych elementów krajobrazu antropogenicznego na przykładzie przeprowadzonych przez autora badań na terenie województwa śląskiego w latach 2018–2022. Publikacja poszerza wiedzę na temat wpływu działalności technicznej człowieka na parametry fizyczne atmosfery. Wynikiem presji człowieka na środowisko są m.in. składowiska odpadów, hałdy górnicze, szyby wentylacyjne oraz infrastruktura do dystrybucji gazu ziemnego. Tak zróżnicowany teren wymaga różnego podejścia do zagadnienia emisji metanu i dlatego w pracy obszernie przedstawiono wiele metod badawczych i technik pomiarowych stężenia metanu. W badaniach terenowych były one dostosowane do analizowanych emiterów metanu. Szeroki zakres metod badawczych oraz różne rodzaje źródeł metanu sprawiły, że publikacja zawiera bardzo bogaty zasób cytowań aktualnej literatury naukowej, stając się tym samym rzetelną bazą merytoryczną i faktograficzną prezentowanych badań. I choć dyscyplina analiz spektrometrycznych metanu jest bardzo dynamiczna i informacje szybko mogą się dezaktualizować, to kompozycja publikacji została tak pomyślana, aby bez względu na opracowania nowych urządzeń pomiarowych zawarte treści były cennym materiałem naukowym. <p>Poszczególne rozdziały monografii zapoznają czytelnika z takimi zagadnieniami, jak:<ul><li>bilansowanie metanu;</li><li>techniki pomiaru stężenia metanu (chromatografia gazowa, czujniki pelistorowe i półprzewodnikowe oraz metody optyczne oparte na spektrofotometrii) wraz z informacjami dotyczącymi kalibracji i obowiązującej skali odniesienia dla pomiarów stężeń metanu na atmosferycznym poziomie;</li><li>parametry mieszania atmosfery zastosowane w autorskim modelowaniu dynamiki warstwy granicznej i technika oceny wielkości strumienia emisji metanu za pomocą instrumentów wykorzystujących parametry mikrometeorologiczne atmosfery; </li><li>metoda przesiewowa określania wielkości uwolnienia metanu ze źródeł rozproszonych o niewielkich wartościach emisji tego gazu; </li><li>platformy satelitarne, za których pomocą możliwe jest szacowanie emisji metanu ze źródeł punktowych i powierzchniowych w różnych skalach przestrzennych. </li></ul>Odbiorcami publikacji mogą być badacze środowiskowi, a także naukowcy zajmujący się inwentaryzacją emisji metanu z terenów zurbanizowanych i przemysłowych. Z uwagi na obszerne fragmenty dotyczące teorii i technik pomiarowych oraz praktyczne informacje dotyczące zarówno prowadzenia badań w warunkach polowych, jak i wskazówki przydatne do właściwej interpretacji wyników analiz stężenia metanu i pomiaru gęstości jego strumienia publikacja może być traktowana jak podręcznik dla badaczy zajmujących się obserwacjami wymiany masy i energii w środowisku, a także analizowaniem tego gazu w laboratorium (kadra sektora gazownictwa, kopalnictwa otworowego złóż węglowodorów oraz ich przetwórstwa).

Wynagrodzenia pracowników w organizacji. Teoria i praktyka

Książka składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Pierwszy stanowi wprowadzenie do projektowania polityki płacowej w przedsiębiorstwie. Pokazuje najważniejsze determinanty oraz zasady budowy systemu wynagrodzeń, akcentując przy tym uregulowania prawne związane z regulaminem wynagradzania. Zaznajamia z teoretycznymi podstawami motywowania i pokazuje praktyczne implikacje wybranych teorii motywowania w wynagradzaniu pracowników. Może być ona przeznaczona zarówno dla studentów studiów zarządzania, zwłaszcza zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, jak również praktyków zajmujących się wynagrodzeniami pracowniczymi w przedsiębiorstwie czy menedżerów poszukujących skutecznych sposobów oddziaływania na pracowników.
