Analiza drgań konstrukcji fundamentu pod dmuchawę ciągu spalin

The subject of the article is an FEM model of a block reinforced concrete foundation for an exhaust gas blower. Devices of this type are used in installations discharging exhaust gases, e.g. from a heating furnace. This work analyzes the vibrations of a foundation model with distributed mechanical elements (including engine, bearings, blower) described as point masses with appropriate inertial properties. The loads of the FE model are harmonic forces resulting from the rotational motion of the shaft and the assumed mass unbalance eccentricities of the engine and blower. The displacements and vibration velocities of selected points of the foundation model were analyzed. Calculations were performed using the Hexagon.Marc program.

Analiza efektywności różnych rodzajów ziem filtracyjnych w rafinacji parafiny na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa Terra Trade

Modern industrial production of paraffin and other hydrocarbon-based products, such as mineral oils or waxes, is extremely closely related to the process of raw material purification. One of the key stages of this process is paraffin filtration, which aims to remove impurities and undesirable substances that may affect the quality and properties of the final product. Filter earth plays an irreplaceable role in the paraffin filtration process. The paper presents the main aspects related to soil for paraffin filtration, including its physical and chemical properties, production processes and use in industry. The aim of the work is to analyze the effectiveness of types of filter soil in terms of the quality of the finished raw material and to present other methods of paraffin purification. This work provides a comprehensive look at paraffin filtration soil and provides the necessary knowledge to understand its key role in the production process.

Analiza fundamentu i korpusu elektrowni wiatrowej

In this paper, the foundation and body of a wind turbine were analyzed using Hexagon. Marc/Mentat software. A spatial FEM model of a reinforced concrete foundation slab supported on the ground and a steel body consisting of shell, perimeter and longitudinal frames was created. The reinforced concrete is formed by a coherent mesh of 8-node spatial elements, the body is formed by 4-node shell elements of the shell, longitudinal and transverse frames. The generator and rotor blades of the wind turbine were replaced by masses centered at the centers of gravity of these elements and the corresponding mass moments of inertia. Wind pressure was represented in terms of forces and pressures. An analysis of these quantities in terms of maximum operational wind speed was carried out. The purpose of the study was to create a numerical model of the foundation and body of a wind turbine, where the 750 kW Lagerwey LW58 power plant was modeled. In the calculations, the displacements from static loads, natural frequencies and vibration velocities of the foundation and body in the selected frequency range of forcing forces were determined.

Analiza znajomości metodologii i narzędzi optymalizacyjnych wśród pracowników – case study

The analysis of familiarity with optimization methodologies and tools among employees focuses on exploring employees’ knowledge of selected methodologies and tools in a given enterprise. The end result is the identification of those that appear to be the most relevant and effective in the context of a given business environment. The paper presents the selected methodologies and optimization tools, justifying their selection and classifying them. Additionally, a brief characterization of the studied enterprise was provided. In the following stages, an analysis of the survey results was conducted, ultimately identifying the best methodologies and optimization tools. As a result of this process, kaizen was selected as the most suitable methodology, while just-in-time was chosen as the optimization tool.

W niniejszym artykule omówiono działalność Biblioteki Politechniki Śląskiej w kontekście zmian w szkolnictwie wyższym, które wprowadzono na mocy Ustawy 2.0. Przedstawiono historię Biblioteki oraz jej współczesne funkcjonowanie w strukturze Politechniki Śląskiej. Scharakteryzowano nową organizację Biblioteki oraz zadania nowo powstałych sekcji i stanowisk. Omówiono również przykłady zadań podejmowanych przez Bibliotekę Politechniki Śląskiej, które są zgodne z dokumentem Strategia rozwoju Politechniki Śląskiej na lata 2020–2026.

Projekty nauki obywatelskiej łączą cele naukowe z edukacyjnymi i społecznymi, a dzięki temu wpływają na lepsze rozumienie nauki przez społeczeństwo, zwiększają zaufanie do niej, sprzyjają jakości i rzetelności badań i przyspieszają tempo rozpowszechniania ich wyników. Nauka obywatelska to, poza zaangażowanymi wolontariuszami, także wiele rozmaitych podmiotów zainteresowanych jej rozwojem. Są nimi m.in. biblioteki akademickie, aktywnie przyczyniające się do prawidłowego przebiegu badań naukowych, które wydają się naturalnie predestynowane do udziału w projektach angażujących naukowców i obywateli. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcono temu, jak biblioteki akademickie wspierają naukę obywatelską. Bazując na metodach analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa oraz analizy zawartości stron internetowych, autorka wskazuje najważniejsze obszary zaangażowania bibliotek akademickich w naukę obywatelską. Są to informowanie i propagowanie tej idei i związanych z nią inicjatyw, partycypacja w projektach z tego zakresu oraz pośrednictwo w integracji obywateli z badaczami.

Biblioteki w kontekstualnej przestrzeni relacji

We współczesnej interpretacji bibliotek jako systemów otwartych szczególne miejsce zajmuje kontekstualna przestrzeń relacji. Celem artykułu jest jej charakterystyka z uwzględnieniem cech procesowych i konceptualnych. Zaprezentowane zostaną elementy przestrzeni – relacje, proces kształtowania i zarządzania relacjami z uwzględnieniem pomiaru kapitału relacyjnego i jego roli w działalności bibliotek. Podstawą spójnego przedstawienia tematu kontekstualnej przestrzeni relacji bibliotek jest aktywne wykorzystanie zagadnień i podejść wyodrębnionych na gruncie nauk o zarządzaniu. Natomiast metoda badawcza oparta na analizie i krytyce piśmiennictwa z zakresu bibliologii pozwala na podkreślenie znaczenia relacji dla działalności bibliotek.

Calcium phosphate-based hybrid biomaterials for bone regeneration and local antibacterial therapy

Composites based on hydroxyapatite (HA) and/or tricalcium phosphate (TCP) along with polymers, are widely used in bone regeneration due to their excellent biocompatibility. However, one of the challenges associated with their implantation procedures is the occurrence of inter- and post-operative bacterial infections. To address this issue biomaterials can be enriched with antibacterial agents such as: metallic nanoparticles (eg. AgNPs, AuNPs), ions (Cu2+, Ag+) or antibiotics, which can effectively inhibit the growth and proliferation of a wide range of bacteria. In this study, composites based on αTCP and hybrid granules were developed and examined. Hybrid granules composed of hydroxyapatite, methylcellulose and/or chitosan were obtained via wet-chemical method. Materials were enriched with various nanoparticles, including AuNPs, AgNPs and CuONPs. The chemical and phase composition (XRF,XRD), setting times (Gillmore Apparatus), and compressive strength (Instron 3345) were examined. Microstructure was observed using SEM. Furthermore, the bioactive potential in vitro in SBF as well as antibacterial activity against E. coli, and S. aureus were evaluated. In the present study, some key features were improved by developing novel biomaterials. The designed composites offer biocompatibility, sufficient mechanical and antibacterial properties. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the developed materials hold promise as candidates preventing post-surgical infections in hard tissue applications. Further biological studies are necessary to comprehensively characterize these biomaterials. Configuring a hierarchical evolutionary strategy using exploratory landscape analysis

Hierarchic Memetic Strategy (HMS) is a stochastic global optimizer designed to tackle highly multimodal problems. It consists of parallel running optimization methods organized in a tree hierarchy. Depending on the task, different algorithms can be utilized on each of the levels. In this paper, we incorporate into HMS's structure a mechanism for choosing its configuration based on information gathered by a set of Exploratory Landscape Analysis (ELA) methods and hyperparametric optimization. We compared the performance of such configured HMS with a portfolio of proven state-of-the-art algorithms on the suite of black-box optimization functions. The results of this work show the efficacy of HMS and provide a set of default parameters evaluated for algorithms users. The use of ELA methods to select the configuration of a composite algorithm extends their standard use as part of an algorithm selector and provides insight into the relationship between exploration and exploitation for different types of fitness functions.

Czy bibliotekarze będą jeszcze potrzebni? Obszary kompetencji przyszłych pracowników bibliotek akademickich

Od czasu pojawienia się komputerów oraz sieci globalnej przewidywano rychły koniec bibliotek lub radykalną zmianę ich funkcjonowania (Licklider 1970, s. 19–21). Dziś wiadomo, że schyłek działalności bibliotek raczej nie nastąpi w najbliższym czasie. Nie ulega jednak wątpliwości, że zarówno instytucja, jak i profesja ewoluują – muszą nadążać za aktualnymi trendami albo przestaną być potrzebne. W literaturze znaleźć można wiele propozycji dotyczących przyszłości zawodu bibliotekarza. Szczególnie interesujące z punktu widzenia niniejszego artykułu są prognozy wskazujące na określone kompetencje i umiejętności, w jakie wyposażony będzie pracownik biblioteki przyszłości. Autor przedstawi koncepcję przyszłości profesji bibliotekarza, opierając się na siedmiu obszarach, do których zalicza się większość kompetencji i umiejętności cenionych współcześnie. Należą do nich: obszar IT, obszar UX – dotyczący wrażeń użytkownika (user experince), obszar HCI (human–computer interaction) – interakcja użytkowników z cyfrowymi zasobami i usługami bibliotek, obszar open access, obszar zasobów cyfrowych, obszar bibliometrii oraz specjalność dziedzinowa (naukowa).

Design thinking – koncepcja i zastosowanie w bibliotece

Biblioteki akademickie, czerpiąc z doświadczeń organizacji komercyjnych, korzystają z wielu stosowanych w nich rozwiązań i technik. Coraz większą popularność we współczesnych przedsiębiorstwach zyskuje koncepcja myślenia projektowego (design thinking). W obu typach organizacji (non profit i nastawionych na zysk) design thinking zaczyna być kojarzony nie tylko z estetyką czy wzornictwem, ale również z metodą twórczego rozwiązywania problemów. Stosowanie myślenia projektowego wspiera m.in. tworzenie innowacyjnych produktów, usług czy kultury organizacyjnej. W artykule przybliżono istotę design thinking oraz dokonano szczegółowego opisu działań w ramach poszczególnych modeli, faz i etapów, opierając się na uwarunkowaniach środowiska bibliotecznego. Opis metod pobudzania kreatywności w pracy bibliotek uzupełniono przykładami zastosowanych scenariuszy i konkretnych wdrożeń w Polsce i na świecie.

Disposing end of life PV modules – reusing, recycling and upcycling

The exponential growth of photovoltaic (PV) installations is an important and desirable element in the global response to climate change. Increased use of PV panels for energy production would also lead to enormous volumes of PV waste that need to be dealt with in an environmentally responsible manner. Crystalline silicon (c-Si) technology commands more than 95% share of the solar PV industry. The growing amounts of silicon PV panel waste present new environmental and waste management challenges. The issue has been acknowledged and some recycling processes have been developed. However, the complexity of the recycling process is one of the prime reasons hindering their large-scale implementation and growth of the PV panels recycling industry. In this paper we present a review of the existing processes of recycling of end-of-life PV panels and propose a new possible use of recycled silicon from the end-of-life c-Si PV panels.

Effect of binder type on properties of molding sands dedicated to 3D printing

This conference abstract shows the results achieved within NetCastPL4.0 project. The project is being realized in cooperation between AGH Faculty of Foundry Engineering (Leader), CNR-ICMATE and Aalto University School of Engineering. The work presented during ECIG 2025 European Cast Iron Group Meeting 2025 on 29 April 2025 in Milan presented the influence of binder type on the properties of molding sands, including sands dedicated to 3D printing. The authorsdemonstrated the possibility of replacing environmentally harmful organic binders with inorganic binders. Various technologies for binding molding compounds were presented, including chemical, thermal (also microwave) or combined binding. The effects of different binders on the strength, permeability, abrasion of the tested sands were presented, as well as their influence on the kinetics of binding or thermal deformation.
